Get a detailed first look at the new villains of Twilight: New Moon in Part One of RT’s New Moon set report.
Our full set interviews will come later (look for these features in our weekly Twilight Corner installments, beginning next Monday), because for now, I’m going to go in depth — using my extensive (and borderline obsessive) knowledge of the books — to answer a few important questions:
- With a new director, omnipresent fans, and the enormous success of Twilight, what’s the on-set atmosphere like?
- Just what do the Volturi look like?
- How faithful will New Moon be to Stephenie Meyer’s novel?

Here is part 1 from Fandango. Spoilers Alert!!!!
It’s been nearly two months since our two-day Vancouver Film Studios set visit for The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and I’m about to burst! It’s been a real challenge to keep my mouth shut for so long on really juicy secrets—the Voluturi! Oh the Volturi! They’re straight from the pages of Stephenie Meyer’s book! The freaky red eyes, pale skin, the chic Italian clothes, a family crest pendant – everything down to the smallest detail — suits their coven perfectly. They make a deliciously deadly vampire mafia. We got to watch Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart film a bunch of scenes near the film’s ending, and also interviewed a LOT of the cast and crew: Taylor Lautner, Michael Sheen, and Rachelle Lefevre to name a few.

Here is a cute article from Hollywood.com. Someone was lucky enough to oggle, I mean observe Rob on the set of New Moon.
1. Robert Pattinson is a sugar hound. There was a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups wrapper on the seat of Pattinson’s on-set chair and a can of Coke on the armrest. I toyed with the idea of stealing the items for some cash on eBay, but both were gone the next time I walked by. Did he finish them? Throw the rest away? We’ll never know. I drew the line at digging through his garbage.

New Article from the Sun Sentinel on New Moon
VANCOUVER, British Columbia—Robert Pattinson is having an Obi-Wan Kenobi moment. Inside a soundstage where “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” is shooting, the lanky English heartthrob stands in front of a tall, wide green screen murmuring a tender admonition, “You promised me nothing reckless.” Motion capture cameras hurtle toward him across a length of track affixed to the stage floor, while a team of technicians studies his stance and the tilt of his head.
The plan is to digitally insert Pattinson, who plays swoony good guy vampire Edward Cullen, into a scene that was filmed much earlier—one in which he appears as an apparition to his costar, Kristen Stewart, cautioning her headstrong character Bella Swan against hanging out with some unsavory-looking biker types. For the effect to work, Pattinson’s image will need to be dropped in at exactly the right position, so despite the cast and crew nearing the end of a very long early May day, perfectionism is still the standard.

Nick Ahad from The Yorkshire Post talks to Oliver Irving.
During the filming of the movie, Irving got very lucky. His lead actor was Robert Pattinson. At the time Pattinson had a little bit of fame from playing the character Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies. Pattinson was cast in How To Be, finished filming, then in a twist of fate went off to Hollywood to star in the vampire movie Twilight.

It’s a really emotional experience when people are screaming at you all the time,” the Twilight star, 23, told EW.com about the fan frenzy that follows him. “When I was in Italy, all these people started screaming in this bookshop. Your immediate reaction is you feel like you’re going to start crying. It’s so not how I thought I would react. When people are pressing loads and loads of energy, you can kind of feel it. It’s overwhelming

MetroNews.ca Interviews Rob.
Robert Pattinson melted the hearts of many when Edward Cullen first appeared on screen in Twilight. The young actor is back in New Moon, but still admits he is shocked with the phenomenon Twilight has turned into. Pattinson sat down with Metro to talk about New Moon, his own success, and his character.
How is the filming going?
It’s great. To be honest, I am surprised at how relaxed it is. I was really nervous before we started because there’s so much expectation now. But with this team, everything seems to work really well. Everyone knows each other. It’s one of the most relaxed jobs I’ve ever worked on. It’s really strange. It’s going really well so far.
Last time we spoke, you told me that you still walked in the street without anyone recognizing you. I’m assuming that’s changed now.
I don’t walk in the street anymore, and when I do, I’m in disguise. (laughs) It’s actually a relief being back at work.
